Blue Pig Gallery plans to pig out on anniversary

The Blue Pig Gallery has gone to the hogs.

On Saturday and Sunday, June 19–20, The Blue Pig Gallery, 119 W. Third St., in Palisade, will celebrate its third anniversary “Pig Latin style.”

The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday with Latin-inspired food from chef Theo Otte from 626 on Rood. Plum Creek Winery also will sell wine tastings.

The event costs $7 per person and there will be drawings for door prizes, including a one-night stay at the Wine Country Inn.

The reception for June’s special exhibit will coincide with the Saturday party. “Missing Pieces” will display Kathleen Steventon’s equine-inspired paintings and Dawn Sudmeier’s glass sculptures.

The anniversary celebration will continues from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday with birthday cake and special tricks performed by pot-bellied pigs from the Western Colorado Pot Belly Pig Educational Health Center.
