Author party, book-signings scheduled
If you are searching for a new read written by a local author, here are three events where you might find what you are looking for:
■ The Museum of the West will host a Spring Author’s Party from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at its 462 Ute Ave. location.
Local authors who will be at the event with their books are: Carol Multz, Judy Blevins, Bob Silbernagel, Rebecca Hale and Laurena Mayne Davis.
■ Nancy S. Buck, author of “How to be a Great Parent,” will have a book-signing from 2–4 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 2451 Patterson Road.
■ “An Alaskan Life of High Adventure” will be signed by local author, guide and explorer Jim Hale from 5–9 p.m. Friday at Rose Hue Gallery, 212 E. Aspen St., in Fruita during the Fruita Fourth Friday event.
Van Pelt adds to collection of stories
James Van Pelt, a local teacher and well-known science fiction and fantasy short story writer, has released another collection of short stories titled “Flying in the Heart of Lafayette Escadrille.”
Van Pelt will sign copies of the book from 3–6 p.m. Saturday at Hastings Books, 2401 North Ave. His website is jimvanpelt.livejournal.com.
Van Pelt is the author of “Strangers and Beggars” and “The Radio Magician and Other Stories.”
