Book signing set for ‘Personal Happiness’
Author Wendy Campbell will be featured at a book-signing event from 2–4 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 2451 Patterson Road.
Campbell’s book is titled “Personal Happiness — Learn to Balance Your Home and Career.”
The book is written for women seeking “work-life balance” and Campbell addresses “harmony between your family, your career, and your checkbook,” according to information about the book at barnesandnoble.com.
‘Off the Shelf’ highlights three area authors
Local authors Diana Barnett, Janice Lawson and Connie Martinez will be featured at the next “Off the Shelf Author Series” event.
“Off the Shelf” will go from 6–7 p.m. Thursday at Crystal Books and Gifts, 439 Main St.
Barnett is the author of three books: “Landing That Professional Job,” “Putting It All Together: Teaching the Research Process” and “Research It! Write It!”
Lawson is a poet and also has three books: “Kuya Kai,” “Poems To See Me Through” and “On The Fly, Kijik and I.”
Barnett and Lawson will give a joint presentation titled “The Author is Always Par of the Story,” and will talk about “how a person’s unique background shows up in one’s writing,” according to a news release from Crystal Books.
Also featured at this “Off the Shelf” is “Mom’s Believe It or Not Recipe Book” written by Martinez.
In her book, Martinez shares not only recipes but family memories and stories from her childhood in the San Luis Valley.
