Writers group plans wine, reading event at Meadery
Words & Wine, an event hosted by The Palisade Writers Group, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Meadery of the Rockies, 3701 G Road, in Palisade.
The evening of wine tasting and words will feature group members reading short excerpts of their work.
Authors expected to read are:
■ D. Lynn Lively, “PickME.com Corpse.”
■ R. Allen Chappell, “Ancient Blood: A Navajo Nation Mystery.”
■ Vicki Knob, “Cold Grey Dawning.”
■ Holly Reed, recollections from Gladwyne, Pennsylvania.
■ Carolyn Mantzke, short story “Living in a Yurt.”
■ Mary Leonard, short story “A Palisade International Incident.”
Area authors to speak Thursday at Off the Shelf
Crystal Books and Gifts’ Off the Shelf series continues with authors Jeff Dershem and Jeannette Gerry at the next event from 6–8 p.m. Thursday at the store, 439 Main St.
“A Brief History of The Telescope an How to Buy One” is the title of Dershem’s presentation set for 6:15 p.m. Dershem is the author of “Planets to Pulsars.”
Gerry’s 7 p.m. presentation is titled “Why the Dragon Roars.” Gerry is the author of the children’s book, “The Dragon, The Butterfly and the Magical Moon.”
