Bacigalupi leading library workshop
Award-winning author Paolo Bacigalupi will lead a writing workshop for teens from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mesa County Libraries’ Central Library, 530 Grand Ave.
Bacigalupi is the author of “The Windup Girl” and “Ship Breaker,” which won the 2011 Michael L. Printz Award and was a finalist for the 2010 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature. The Paonia author’s latest novel, “The Drowned Cities,” was released May 1.
Those wanting to attend the workshop will need to register by calling 243-4442 or signing up in the events calendar at http://www.mesacountylibraries.org. A limited number of seats are available for the workshop, which is a Summer Reading Program events.
Poet gives reading at bookstore
Karen Fricke will give a poetry reading at 6 p.m. Monday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 2451 Patterson Road. Frickey is the author of “Beyond the Painted Desert.”
Photographer featured at signing
Daily Sentinel photographer Christopher Tomlinson will be signing copies of “Monumental Majesty: 100 Years of Colorado National Monument” at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Walgreens store at the corner of First Street and Patterson Road.
“Monumental Majesty,” which was written, photographed and designed by Daily Sentinel staff, is a finalist for the Colorado Book Award in the anthology/collection category.
