Fruita author featured at signing

Fruita author S.K. Alfstad will be signing copies of his book “Code Named Joshua” from 1–3 p.m. Saturday at Culinary Corner, 455 Main St.

Magnus Stone, the main character in “Code Named Joshua,” is asked to join the Unconventional Terrorism Department of the Central Intelligence Agency. Stone is reluctant, but when faced with real demons, his chooses to step up, according to a news release about the book and signing.

Central Library move scheduled

 

The Mesa County Libraries’ Central Library will be closed June 1–19 as the materials and equipment are moved to the library’s new building at Fifth Street and Grand Avenue.

The library’s temporary location at 655 N. First St. will close at 6 p.m. May 31. A Grand Reopening Celebration at the new building is set for June 20.

Book checkout from the Central Library during the remainder of May will be due in July, according to a library news release. The library branch locations remain open and on their regular schedules.
