‘Row 22’ writer featured at library
Frederick Waterman, who wrote the short-story series “Row 22, Seats A&B” for 13 years in Hemispheres magazine, will give a presentation in Grand Junction.
“How to Make Your Writing Compelling” will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Mesa County Libraries’ Central Library at Fifth Street and Grand Avenue.
This event is free and open to the public.
Waterman is a former journalist and sportswriter and has written for both newspapers and magazines. This event is sponsored by the Western Colorado Writers Forum, westerncoloradowriters.org.
Summer Reading Program begins
Mesa County Libraries’ Summer Reading Program is set to begin Thursday.
This program is open to all ages, there are prizes and it is free. You can sign up at mesacountylibraries.org or at any library location.
There will be magicians, musicians and puppeteers performing as part of the program that will begin with parties scheduled between Thursday and June 2. Check the events calendar at mesacountylibraries.org for dates and times.
A kickoff party for teens ages 12–17 will be at 5–8 p.m. June 2 at the Central Library.
