Book-signing scheduled for ‘Winelands of Colorado’
Christina Holbrook, co-author of the book “Winelands of Colorado,” will be featured at a book-signing from 2–4 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 2451 Patterson Road.
“Winelands of Colorado,” which Holbrook authored with Marc Hoberman, is a coffee-table book that includes more than 300 photos. It considers Colorado’s winemaking history and present from the high country to Palisade.
Limericks with illustrations at Neighbors Read program
Learn to write and illustrate limericks during the Mesa County Libraries’ Neighbors Read family story time.
Parachute writer Melinda Rice will lead this program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Mesa County Libraries’s Central Library, 433 N. Sixth St.
“Kids will learn to write this fun style of poetry and also will illustrate their work,” said a news release from the libraries.
Rice is the author of the poetry book “Sea Fever: A Poetic Journey.”

Authors make presentations at ‘Off the Shelf’ store event
Local authors Jeff Dershem and Jim Hale will be featured at the next “Off the Shelf Author Series” event.
“Off the Shelf” will go from 6–7 p.m. Thursday at Crystal Books and Gifts, 439 Main St.
Dershem, author of “Planets to Pulsars: A Citizen’s Guide to the Universe,” will give a talk titled “Other Worlds” about the extra solar planets being discovered, according to a news release from Crystal Books.
Hale will give the presentation titled “Life, Love, Leadership.” The local pastor is the author of “An Alaskan Life of High Adventure” and “The Ascent: Perspectives from High Places on Life, Love and Leadership.”
