College Soccer

• Ramirez makes all-region team

Mesa State College sophomore Dany Ramirez was selected to the Daktronic All-Central Region women’s soccer second team, announced Wednesday.
The forward from Rupert, Idaho, led the Mavericks (12-9-1) with nine goals and seven assists. She had 61 shots, including 29 on goal, and four game-winning goals.
Ramirez is one of seven RMAC players to make the All-Region first or second team.

College Swimming

• Mavs’ Wedel honored by RMAC

Mesa State freshman Katie Wedel is the RMAC women’s swimmer of the week.
Wedel led the Mavericks to three wins in the Bill & Peggy Foster Duals on Saturday at Orchard Mesa Pool. She finished first in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:19.02), 200 breaststroke (2:47.64) and 200 individual medley (2:31.01).
Mesa State’s next meet is Nov. 21-23 in the Rocky Mountain Invitational in Golden.
