Briefs: OA A Little Romance February 20, 2009

The Valley Symphony Orchestra will highlight some of its talented musicians during two presentations of “A Little Romance and Some Local Color” in Delta and Montrose.

Concerts will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Delta Performing Arts Center in Delta, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Montrose Pavilion in Montrose.

Concertmaster Debra TenNapel will perform Beethoven’s “Romance No. 2 in F Major;” Richard Weldon will perform a Torelli Trumpet Concerto; and Emily Johannessen, a French horn player, will perform the first movement of Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No. 21.”

Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet” and “Nimrod” from Edward Elgar’s “Enigma Variations” also will be played.
