Musicians who toured France together to play in concert series

Four brilliant and young, award-winning musicians will come together for two Western Slope Chamber Music Series concerts.

“Quatuor Cornichons” is made up of cellist Gabe Mientka; violist Stephanie Mientka; and violinists Hanna Hurwitz and Erin Brust. The four are from three different states and met in France where they debuted as a string quartet.

The concerts’ program will feature the “American” string quartet by Dvorak and a composition by Shostakovich.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the American Lutheran Church, 631 26 1/2 Road, in Grand Junction, and at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Blue Sage Center in Paonia.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door for adults and $5 for students. Advance tickets available at Roper Music in Grand Junction, Paonia Farm and Home, Hardin’s Natural Foods in Hotchkiss and Finishing Touch in Delta.
