Spanish dancing and music at Chamber Music Series
A blend of Spanish Flamenco dancing and chamber orchestra music will be presented at the Western Slope Chamber Music Series’ “A Celebration of Music and Dance.”
The concert will be performed at two venues: 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Avalon Theatre in Grand Junction and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Paradise Theater in Paonia.
The program will feature world-renowned Spanish Flamenco dancer Clarita, Spanish guitar player Javier de los Santos and dance and percussion/dance numbers with David Alderdice. Featured chamber orchestra music will include Brahms Sextet in B flat and Tchaikovsky’s passionate masterpiece “Souvenir de Florence” performed by eight virtuoso musicians led by Tyme and Kathryn Mientka on cello and piano.
The Celtic band Feast will perform as well.
Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door for adults, and $10 for those ages 12 and younger. Tickets are available at Roper Music in Grand Junction, Paonia Farm and Home, Hardin’s Natural Foods in Hotchkiss and Finishing Touch in Delta.
