Briefs: OA Field Sketching sessions October 10, 2008

Mesa State College professor to conduct sketch sessions

Suzie Garner, sketchbook artist and Mesa State College professor, will teach the program Field Sketching in the Monument as part of the Colorado National Monument 2008 Walks and Talks programs.

The two-hour sessions introduce participants to the materials and tools needed to get started in keeping a field sketchbook.

Pre-registration is required for the session as space is limited. Pre-register by calling 858-3617, ext. 364.

The group will meet at the monument’s Visitor Center and then move to the Bookcliff shelter for demonstrations and practical application.

Class sessions are 3:30–5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18.

There is a $7 entrance fee per vehicle to enter the monument.
