Actors Cliff Robertson and Lou Diamond Phillips and director Randal Kleiser will be in Grand Junction for The Independence Film Fest of Colorado with screenings and discussions Friday through Sunday, Sept. 12–14.
The heart of the festival is to showcase films from the ’60s through the ’80s. Screenings of documentaries and historical films also will be included in the festival. The stars will participate in question and answer sessions with the public and attend tribute events.
Among the films that Academy Award winner Robertson has appeared in are “Charly,” “The Devil’s Brigade,”
“Three Days of the Condor” and, most recently, “Spider-Man.”
Kleiser is known for directing “Grease,” “The Blue Lagoon,” “Honey I Blew Up the Kid,” and “White Fang,” with Ethan Hawke.
Lou Diamond Phillips appeared in “La Bamba,” “Young Guns” and “Stand and Deliver.”
All of the actor and director tribute events are free and open to the public. Ticketed events cost $5. Ask Cinema at the Avalon about VIP events.
