'From Germany With Love’ starts concert series in Snowmass, Glenwood

Symphony in the Valley opens its 2008–09 concert season with “From Germany With Love,” offering performances Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18–19, in Snowmass Village and Glenwood Springs.

The symphony is conducted by Carlos Elias, who heads up the strings program at Mesa State College, conducts the Mesa State Orchestra and is the concertmaster for the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.

“From Germany With Love” features Beethoven’s “Concerto No. 5 for Piano and Orchestra” as the headline piece with a piano performance by Andrea Arese-Elias, the conductor’s wife.

Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Snowmass Chapel in Snowmass Village and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, in the Glenwood Springs High School auditorium.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 ages 3–18 and $30 for families. Season tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for seniors and $85 for families. Music students are admitted free.
