Joel Fan to perform in first chamber music series

The Western Slope Chamber Music Series opens its 2008–09 season with a pianist who began his performing career at age 11 with the New York Philharmonic.

Joel Fan, who is part The Silk Road Project founded by Yo-Yo Ma, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at American Lutheran Church, 631 26 1/2 Road, in Grand Junction and at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Blue Sage Center, 228 Grand Ave., in Paonia.

Fan has performed across the country and the world and his debut solo recording “World Keys” was released in 2006, according to biographical information on Fan at http://www.silkroadproject.org.

Concert tickets for adults are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Tickets for students are $5.

Advance tickets can be purchased at Roper Music in Grand Junction, Paonia Farm and Home in Paonia, Hardin’s
Natural Foods in Hotchkiss and Finishing Touch in Delta.
