Western Colorado Percussion Festival to be at college

Nationally recognized percussion performers and educators will participate in the 2008 Western Colorado Percussion Festival at Mesa State College.

The festival begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, and continues through the day with clinics and recitals. Cost is $10.

The festival wraps up with a 7:30 p.m. recital performed by Darin Kamstra, with Mesa State, and Brett E.E. Paschal, the director of percussion studies and instructor of music theory at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore.

The concert will be in Recital Hall of the Moss Performing Arts Center.

Tickets to the evening performance are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students and children.
