Briefs: OA polar Express November 28, 2008

Polar Express chugs along through holiday

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the North Pole.

The popular children’s book “The Polar Express” comes to life on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad again this holiday season.

The round trip train rides include a visit with Santa, caroling, hot chocolate and a special treat. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas.

The Polar Express runs weekend evenings until Sunday, Dec. 28 (sorry, no trips on Christmas Day).

Adult fares are between $28 and $34 and children’s are $18 to $29, depending on the day.

Some dates are already sold out, so make reservations now through 1-888-TRAIN-O7, http://www.durangotrain.com or http://www.polarexpressride.com.

Winter train excursions other than the Polar Express depart daily in December as well. Check the Web site for ticket information.
