'Capote,’ others in Aspen Filmfest

Award-winning films from Cannes, Sundance and Berlin film festivals are a part of the lineup for the Aspen Filmfest from Sept. 24–28 at the historic Wheeler Opera House, the Isis Theatre and Carbondale’s Crystal Theatre.

Filmfest patrons in previous years have been some of the first to see “Squid and the Whale,” “Motorcycle Diaries,” “Capote,” “Transamerica” and other films. Celebrity guests such as Kathy Bates, Felicity Huffman and Sydney Pollock have been known to show up.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Monday, Sept. 15, through participating theaters. Tickets to evening and weekend shows cost $12, weekday matinees cost $9 and tickets for children cost between $9 and $6.
