Two actors play 15 roles in college theater production

How do two actors play 15 characters in one play? Practice.

“Stones in His Pockets,” the newest Mesa State College theater performance on the Mesa Experimental Theatre stage, tells the story of a Hollywood production company invading a small Irish town.

The play opens at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5.

Acting/directing majors Nick Witham and Jesse Keeter play Irishmen cast as extras in a film as well as town locals, movie stars and a slew of other interesting characters.

“Both (Witham and Keeter) deliver stunning performances as they move seamlessly from character to character flanked only by a minimal set and a few small prop and costume pieces,” wrote Jessica Cowden, Mesa State publicity coordinator, in a news release.
