Briefs: OA Tree Lighting November 28, 2008
Tree lighting to be downtown GJ
Santa can do it all: make toys, take care of the elves, eat lots of cookies and light the Christmas tree on Main Street.
With a ho-ho-ho, the annual Wells Fargo Tree Lighting with family entertainment, Christmas carols and baked goods is from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, in front of Wells Fargo Bank, 359 Main St.
The tree lights and festive downtown decorations are expected to twinkle to life about 5:30 to 5:45 p.m.
Santa will visit with children and Dos Rios Elementary School will be selling items.
Participating downtown stores will stay open late to launch their displays for the holiday Window Decorating Contest judged by the public. Ballots are available at downtown restaurants. Judging lasts from Nov. 28 through Dec. 18.
Downtown parking is free during the holiday season, including the new parking garage on Rood Avenue.
