Domestic violence topic of workshops

Let’s Talk Respect: Light of Hope with Debbie Miller will present domestic violence awareness presentation for men and women at Colorado Mesa University Maverick Center, in Room 155.

The presentation for women will be from 6 to 7 tonight and the presentation for men will from 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26.

Help for combat veterans in Glenwood

The Grand Junction Vet Center will host a counseling event for combat veterans dealing with problems of readjusting back into society after service in the military.

The event will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Glenwood Springs Workforce Center, 51027 U.S. Highway 6&24, Suite 173, at the Glenwood Spring Mall in Glenwood Springs.

Friday lunch fundraiser for New Emerson

Texas Roadhouse will host a benefit lunch for New Emerson Elementary School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at 2870 North Ave.

A lunch of pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, Caesar salad, soft drink and a dessert is $10. Dining options are to-go, delivery, pick up and dining at the restaurant.
