‘Butterflies and Brews’ to be at Gardens Harris Amphitheater

There’s nothing like enjoying a microbrew among the butterflies.

“Butterflies and Brews,” the fifth installment of the Western Colorado Botanical Garden’s 2010 Summer Festival Series, will be Friday, Aug. 6, at the Elizabeth B. Harris Amphitheater, 655 Struthers Ave.

The microbrew and music festival will feature specialty brews from Deschutes Brewery, Stone Brewing Co., The Rockslide Brewery, Smuggler’s Brewpub and Palisade Brewing Co., among others.

The musical side of the evening will be highlighted with appearances by Potcheen, a pirate Celtic rock group from Denver, as well as Wheel, That Guy and Ninja Fitness, Shades of Gonzo, The Bards and side stage acts by The Muse.

Vendors will be on hand with food and alcoholic beverages, available to those ages 21 and older with ID. Dogs, outside food, drinks and coolers will not be allowed.

Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased at area City Market stores, The Muse in Fruita, Western Colorado Botanical Gardens and Cumulus Broadcasting. Kids 12 and under get in free.

Seating is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Gates open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 6, so pack up your lawn chairs and blankets, and set yourself up for a night of bands, brews and butterflies.
