Celebrate 110th anniversary with the town of Palisade
A 110th anniversary deserves a big celebration and the town of Palisade has planned just that.
The Palisade Cen-Ten (centennial plus 10) will be Friday and Saturday, April 4–5, featuring a street dance, bike rodeo and barbecue.
Ron Koss will provide music for the free street dance from 6–10 p.m. Friday, April 4, in downtown Palisade. A beer garden will be set up at Town Plaza.
The Palisade bike rodeo will begin with registration at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 5, with the event beginning at 9:45 a.m. at the Palisade Community Center.
The bike rodeo will feature bike safety checks and tune-ups by The Bike Shop and R-5 bike class, rules of the road and a bike obstacle course.
The bike rodeo is free. A limited number of bikes and helmets will be available for use, so participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets.
After the bike course, adults and kids can decorate their bikes for the bike parade that will travel to Peach Bowl Park, where the town of Palisade will officially kick off its 110th birthday celebration.
The gathering at Peach Bowl Park will include a barbecue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a softball game between the town team and a team of citizens. First pitch will be at noon.
Cost for the barbecue is $5, except for those residents in the 81526 zip code who picked up tickets in advance.
