CHEERS! Everyman’s drink
I can’t stand the smell or taste of whiskey (I blame my youth) unless it’s a really, really good one.
Since that usually means it must be a really, really expensive whiskey, the only way I can drink whiskey is mixed, preferably with some kind of cola.
And as I’m not much of a beer drinker either, I was pleased that Edgewater Brewery, 905 Struthers Ave., offers mixed drinks.
The manager there says she came up with a few, including one named Working Man’s Swill in honor of the nearby blue-collar businesses.
OK. It’s really just a bourbon and soda — “No Coke, Pepsi!” — but it works ... and I don’t regret it in the morning.
