Children’s choir to perform 20th spring concert

The Grand Valley Children’s Choir and Friends will present its 20th annual Spring Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Central High School, 550 Warrior Way.

The choir is an auditioned ensemble of children in the fourth through sixth grades.

“The goal of the Choir is to enhance the children’s vocal technique and musical reading abilities through rounds, exercises, games and varied historical and cultural literature, as well as to encourage self-expression,” according to choir notes at gjsymphony.org.

The choir is directed by Pam Scott and Linda Koeman with additional support from Robin Streeter. It is under the nonprofit umbrella of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets for the concert cost $7 for adults, and $4 for children.
