Clarinetists gather at CMU

A final recital featuring two clarinet choirs will conclude a day of intensive learning for area clarinetists.

The recital will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, in the Recital Hall of Colorado Mesa University’s Moss Performing Arts Center.

Along with the choirs, there will be solo performances by Matthew Nelson, guest artist for Clarinet Day and a professor at Utah Valley University, and Adam Ballif, faculty member with the university’s music department.

Ballif and Nelson also will present two duets: Mendelssohn’s “Concertpiece No. 1” and Bedoya’s “Columbian Dances.”

Tickets for the Clarinet Day Final Concert cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students and are available at the university’s box office by calling 248-1604.
