CMU Repertory Theater summer schedule
The second season of summer theater presented by the Colorado Mesa University Mesa Repertory Theatre will feature two rollicking comedies and a children’s production.
All three productions will take place in June in the intimate Mesa Experimental Theatre at the Moss Performing Arts Center, 1231 N. 12th St.
■ “The Complete History of America (abridged)” is described as a “hysterical comedy by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, the creators of last year’s hit ‘The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged),’” according to a news release from CMU.
“‘America’ is 600 years of history in 6,000 seconds,” the news release said.
Shows will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, and June 19, 21–22, 25 and 27, and at 2 p.m. Saturdays, June 15 and June 29.
Tickets cost $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $6 for students.
■ “Altar Boyz” is “a hilarious musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band on the last night of their national ‘Raise the Praise’ tour,” the release said.
There are “tight harmonies, spectacular choreography, a touching story and a plethora of laughs,” the release said.
Shows are at 7:30 p.m. June 14–15, 18, 20, 26 and 28–29, and at 2 p.m. June 22.
Tickets cost $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $6 for students.
■ “Wiley and the Hairy Man” will be Mesa Repertory’s first children’s production.
It “tells the story of a young, fatherless boy living in the South who learns to conquer his fear of his mysterious surroundings by relying on the power of his own wits,” the news release said.
Shows will be at 2 p.m. June 19–21 and 26–28. All seats cost $5. For tickets and information, call the box office at 248-1604 or go to coloradomesa.edu/mosstickets.
