College faculty start season of Music at Mesa

Mesa State College’s music faculty members are hiding off stage, and nor should they.

Listen to the talent and experience of this group at the Music Faculty Gala at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at the Recital Hall in the college’s Moss Performing Arts Center.

The program includes the two newest members of the music faculty:

Brita Fay, a pianist, is the founder of Sera School, which offers after-school and early childhood music programs in Mesa County and Vail Valley. She has won a number of competitions nationally and in Western Europe.

Barbara Pytlewski, a bassoonist, can be heard on the soundtracks for National Geographic and the movie “The Son of Mask.”

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students. A catered reception will follow the concert, which is the initial performance for the 2010–2011 Music at Mesa season.
