Color Sunday events planned on Grand Mesa
Color Sunday is Sept. 25, but the fall color, as seen here in this file photo of color on Grand Mesa, and some of the events celebrating it will go beyond the weekend.
Take a drive on Colorado Highway 65, a scenic and historic byway over Grand Mesa, and look for Color Sunday related events.
For example, the town of Mesa is hosting a dinner and arts and crafts fair from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mesa Community Center.
Powderhorn Resort, http://www.powderhorn. com, will give lift rides from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 24–25 and Oct. 1–2. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for kids age 10 and younger.
Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl will make appearances on Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Grand Mesa Visitor Center. Rocky Mountain Nature Association also will have a book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the center.
