Colorado highways open again after closure

DENVER — Colorado interstate highways are back open to New Mexico and Kansas after being shut down because snow and ice.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said Thursday Interstate-70 was closed eastbound from Limon to Kansas and northbound Interstate-25 was closed between Walsenburg to the New Mexico state line because of dangerous conditions.

The National Weather Service says snow from a spring storm is tapering off across the state, but hazardous conditions still exist in many areas.
