Concert to feature 3 Broadway performers
Music from “Wicked,” “Cabaret,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Phantom of the Opera” will fill Grand Junction High School auditorium during a Broadway Nights concert with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.
The concert, which will feature Broadway performers Tamra Hayden, Philip Hernandez and Craig Schulman, will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in the auditorium at 1400 N. Fifth St.
Hayden, a Colorado native, “has played the role of Cosette from ‘Les Miserables’ on Broadway and in national tours more than 1,800 times,” according to a news release from the symphony.
Among other roles Hayden has carried is that of Texas in “Cabaret,” Hodel in “Fiddler on the Roof” and Christine in “Phantom of the Opera.”
Hernandez “is the only man in Broadway history to have played both Jean Valijean and Inspector Javert in ‘Les Miserables,’ ” the release said.
Among the roles Schulman is know for is that of the Phantom in “Phantom of the Opera” and Jean Valijean in “Les Miserables,” the release said.
Schulman also has had feature roles in the daytime dramas “One Life to Live,” “Loving” and “Another World,” the release said.
Tickets start at $15 for adults and $10 for students.
A dinner and show package is also available that features a gourmet dinner at Bookcliff Country Club before the show.
