CSU professor’s art work at CMU

The exhibit “Longing for Something” by Cyane Rollins Tornatzky will open the gallery season for Colorado Mesa University Art Gallery on Monday, Aug. 20.

Tornatzky is a professor of electronic art at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and her “dynamic work draws on the traditional medium of drawing and translates it into a vibrant interactive imagery displayed on a monitor or captured in print,” according to a news release from CMU.

This exhibit is an “investigation of ‘home’” as well as the idea of keeping up with the Jones, according to Tornatzky’s statement in the news release. “These works are an effort to exorcize that longing for something more that can inevitably undermine my feelings of confidence and satisfaction with what I have.”

A public, free reception for the exhibit and artist will be from 6–8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at the Art Gallery in CMU’s University Center.

The exhibit will be on display through Sept. 7. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
