Culture Fest to be at Central Library
Cultural diversity will be celebrated at Culture Fest 2013 with music, art and dance at Mesa County Libraries’ Central Library.
A number of ethnic foods also will be offered at the celebration that will go from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the library located at 443 N. Sixth St.
“Nations and cultures from almost every continent are represented at Culture Fest, and all are eager to share their customs and to answer questions,” a news release said.
The entertainment schedule is as follows:
■ 11 a.m., Timothy Trujillo, Native American ceremonial singer.
■ 11:30 a.m., Sultan’s Pride Middle Eastern Dance Troupe.
■ Noon, Colorado Mesa University Diversity Alliances.
■ 12:30 p.m., Mathais Mulumba, guitar and drums.
■ 1 p.m., Baile Folklorico El Valle Lindo, traditional folk dances from Mexico.
■ 1:45 p.m., Absolute Dance, children’s group performs hip hop.
■ 2:15 p.m., Tango with Scott and Alice Betts.
In conjunction with Culture Fest, the public is invited to an opening reception for “The Color of Dreams Art Show” from 6–8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.
The art show celebrates the diversity in Mesa County and will be on display at the Central Library through Nov. 29.
