DA says Adams County shooting justified

BRIGHTON — The Adams County district attorney says an Adams County deputy was justified when he fatally shot a man who pointed a gun at him.

District Attorney Dave Young said Tuesday that deputy Manuel Aragon used appropriate force when he shot and killed Robert Penning on Jan. 14.

According to the Denver Post, Aragon was investigating a report of a drunk driver when the shooting occurred.
