Easter egg hunts abound

Ah, springtime — a time of rebirth, flowers bursting forth from winter hibernation and biting off the heads of chocolate bunnies.

A number of Easter egg hunts will take place Saturday, March 30, and here are a few egg-cellent offerings:

■ Children ages 10 and younger are invited to participate in an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Grand Villa Assisted Living, 2680 N. 15th St. Call 241-9706 for information.

■ Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 1247 will host an Easter egg hunt from 1–4 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at 1404 Ute Ave. Call 242-9940 for information.

■ The Western Colorado Botanical Gardens Easter egg hunt will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 30, at 641 Struthers Ave.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Children ages 1–4 will hunt on the front lawn at 11 a.m., and ages 5–8 will hunt in the amphitheater at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $5 per child, or $3 for botanical gardens members. There will be the golden egg and a mystery prize. Bring your own baskets. The Easter Bunny will be there. Call 245-3288 for information.

■ The annual Easter Egg Stravaganza for children ages 2–10 will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 30, at Bill Heddles Recreation Center in Delta. Kids will decorate eggs in the gym, play games or make crafts, and participate in an outdoor candy hunt.

Early registration costs $3 per child until 5 p.m. Friday, March 29. Cost at the door will be $5 per child, and adults get in free. Call 874-0923 for information.
