Chorus offers singing Valentines

Quartets from Bookcliff Barbershop Harmony Chorus will deliver a cappella singing Valentines from Palisade to Mack from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 13–14.

The quartets will go anywhere in the area, dressed in tuxedos to impress, and will serenade any woman or man, or several people, with two sweet love songs. The quartets will also present a red rose, a small box of Enstrom’s candy, and a card with a personalized message, and will pose for a keepsake photo.

Call 257-7664 for information and to schedule a time.

La Mort

How long or wide the swath of death

does not depend on death itself.

It has no long agenda,

holds no secrets of its own.

Death, unseen, just comes and goes –

no steps to track, no waft of rose.

But, in the flesh where life’s undone,

lie the signs of life’s receding.

Then breath departs and silence grows –

unseen death just comes. . . and goes.
