Top 5 Comic hosting indie film screening
Top 5 Comics will host the independent film screening of “Knights of Badassdom” at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Carmike Cinemas 7.
The one-night screening is contingent on the selling of tickets in advance.
General admission tickets are $10.50 and must be reserved by Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Call out for Art Center Members Exhibit
The Art Center Members’ Exhibit 2014 will be on display Feb. 5–26 at The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St.
The center has put out a call to all current members to enter art that they are most passionate about.
The entry forms are online at gjartcenter.org. Artwork can be dropped off beginning Jan. 31.
An opening reception will be from 7–9 p.m. Feb. 7, and the People’s Choice Awards will be given at noon Feb. 15.

Studio’s students send art to stock show
Watercolor Dogs Art Studio announced the names of its students who were selected as grand champion and reserve champion for the National Western Stock Show’s Youth Art Show.
The art show selects two grand champions and two reserve champions for each grade level. The theme of this year’s art show was Western Lifestyle. Artwork entered had to be 2-D and could be created from any medium.
The art show is during the 2014 National Western Stock Show that runs from Jan. 11–26, at 4655 Humboldt St., in Denver. It can be viewed on the third floor of Expo Hall, near the Coors Western Art Exhibit.

After the show in Denver, all work will be returned to the Western Slope and will be featured in an art show in March at Watercolor Dogs Art Studio, 145 N. Mesa St., in Fruita.
