Chorus offers Singing Valentines

The Bookcliff Barbershop Harmony Chorus is offering singing Valentines.

It costs $45 for two love songs, a red rose, a box of Enstrom candy and a card that will be delivered anywhere between Palisade and Mack.

Singing Valentines are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 13–15, and after noon on Sunday, Feb. 16.

Dance academy hosts grand opening

 

Adagio Dance Academy will host a grand opening celebration from 5–7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at its studio, 123 S. Third St.

The event will allow the public to see the newly remodeled studio space, enjoy light refreshments and see a variety of performances by Adagio’s Company level dancers.

The academy offers classes in ballet, jazz and contemporary styles for all levels ages 18 months and older, as well as a Date Night Series that will be offered the second Friday of each month beginning Friday, Feb. 14.

Loma artist plans Golden, GJ exhibits

 

Works by artist Sara Ransford of Loma are on display through March 16 at the Colorado Clay exhibit at Foothills Art Center, 809 15th St., in Golden.

Ransford also will have pieces on display in Grand Junction at The Art Center’s “Beyond Representation: Thinking Through Abstraction” in March and at The Art Center’s Fine Art Auction in May.

Montrose area photographs sought

 

The Montrose Office of Business and Tourism invites local and regional photographers to submit exceptional images that can be used in developing displays for fine art images, as well as permanent wall-mounted displays. 

Materials submitted should have a connection to the call for entry theme: “Seasons Treasures — Photographs of Montrose Colorado.” 

The office is also seeking photographs for the official Montrose Visitor Guide and VisitMontrose.com.

“Seasons Treasures” submissions should represent Montrose with a focus on any of the following: special events, landscapes (to include historic landmarks, agriculture, ecosystems, etc.), recreation (on and off road, water, sky, motor and foot travel), wildlife, shopping, parks and Montrose living. Photographers wishing to participate should submit a portfolio of images by Feb. 13.
