Sculptors needed for Art on the Corner

The Art on the Corner committee has put out a call to sculptors for its 2017–18 temporary exhibit.

The deadline for receipt of proposals is 5 p.m. Aug. 11.

Final selection of the 2017 temporary exhibit will be complete by Aug. 25.

Installation of the exhibit will take place Oct. 7 during the Downtown Art Festival. The pieces will remain in place for one year.

This year’s exhibit will be curated by Avery Glassman, programs and exhibitions curator at The Art Center.

Go to downtowngj.org/aotc/ or call 255-4924 for exhibit and submission information.

Paonia artist featured in exhibition

Works by Paonia artist Mark W. Malone will be featured in the exhibition “Enigmatic Visions” at Agora Gallery in Chelsea, New York.

The exhibition, which is up from July 28 through Aug. 17, includes pieces from 11 artists.

The pieces in the exhibition highlight the “small scale” by highlighting lonely places or a single object, according to a news release from the gallery.
