Trail of Terror opens for Halloween season
The Trail of Terror Halloween haunted house presented by the Express All Stars has opened at 515 S. Seventh St.
Now in its 15th year, the haunted house features “32 rooms of fright and fear sure to chill horrified housegoers to the bone,” a news release said.
The attraction is open at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Halloween.
Express All Stars athletes will hand out candy for trick-or-treaters beginning at 4 p.m. on Halloween.
Admission to the Trail of Terror is $15 for adults, $13 for students with school IDs, and new this year is a $25 fast pass for patrons.

Auditions for ‘The War of the Worlds’ set
Radio Room Players has put out a second call for auditions for its next production, the 1938 radio version of “The War of the Worlds.”
Auditions will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the KAFM Radio Room, 1310 Ute Ave.
The directors request a commitment from those auditioning to be able to attend all weekly rehearsals at 6 p.m. each Monday, until showtime. There is also a call for lighting, sound, sound effects, costumes and art experts.
The cast will include female actors, despite their omission in the original script.

German high school band plans concerts
The band from Central High School’s exchange school in Germany will be touring Colorado the next two weeks and will give two free performances in the Grand Valley.
The Ratsband is from Stadthagen, Germany, and is one of the top school bands in Germany having already performed in China, South America and Africa, a news release said.
Performances are planned for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Central High School and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Grand Junction High School.
‘Messiah’ solo auditions set for November
Messiah Choral Society will host solo auditions in November for its December Messiah Sing-a-Long.
The 10th annual sing-along is planned for 2–5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 237 32 Road. There are no practices leading up to the sing-along. Participants will just need to arrive by 1:45 p.m. to be seated in their voice section.
Those wanting to audition to sing a solo should plan to attend a “tryout” with the organist on Saturday, Nov. 19.
