Gallery helps anyone paint a canvas

Artist Rachel Kilgore spent the past two years aspiring to create a local venue where art enthusiasts of all ages could paint to their hearts’ content.

Two weeks ago, Kilgore fulfilled her vision, opening Creative Canvas Gallery, 128 E. Third St., in Palisade. It is inside the Twisted Brick Studios building.

For $25, painters get a 16x20-inch canvas and acrylic paints to create an original painting.

Creative Canvas is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Kilgore also will teach painting lessons for adults and children on Saturdays. The $35 fee covers instruction and materials.

Children can take lessons from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with adults’ lessons starting at 2 p.m. and running for 90 minutes.
