Flyball tourney comes to fairgrounds

Look for lots of tail-wagging fun at the Westside Woofers Flyball Tournament in Lions Park at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, 2785 U.S. Highway 50.

Set up and practice for the tournament begin about noon on Friday, Sept. 2, with competition from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 3–4.

The competition is a team event for energetic dogs of any breed or mix. The dogs jump four hurdles, triggering a box to get a ball, and then carry the ball back over the four hurdles, according to information at

Admission is free for spectators. Take chairs and shade, but leave family pets at home.
