Former Gov. Ritter says energy chief a good choice

FORT COLLINS — Former Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter says President Barack Obama made a good choice when he picked MIT physicist Ernest Moniz as his nominee to head the U.S. Department of Energy.

Ritter has headed the Center for the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University since he left office in 2011 and was considered a contender for the Cabinet position.

Ritter tells the Fort Collins Coloradoan Moniz has a good reputation and energy has to be a major focus of this administration.
