Get in the Christmas spirit at area light parades
Light parades are a delightful way to get into the Christmas spirit and there are a number of parades scheduled in the area:
■ Delta: The Parade of Lights will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, on downtown Main Street. A tree-lighting ceremony will follow in the Wells Fargo parking lot. Info: deltacolorado.org.
■ Palisade: The lighting of the downtown Palisade Plaza tree will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, followed by the “Embrace the Tradition”-themed Parade of Lights at 6 p.m. Info: palisadecoc.com.
■ Cedaredge: “Vintage Colorado — Memories of Christmas Past”-themed parade of lights will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Info: 856-6961.
■ Grand Junction: “Christmas on the Silver Screen”-themed parade will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, on Main Street. No parking on Main Street. Info: 245-9697, downtowngj.org.
■ Montrose: “Winter, Land of Wonder”-themed parade will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, on Main Street. Parade travels from North Stough Avenue to Rio Grand Avenue. Info: 240-1402.
■ Rifle: The Parade of Lights in Rifle will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, traveling from the Garfield County Fairgrounds to Colorado Highway 6. Info: riflechamber.com.
■ Fruita: Hometown Christmas Parade of Lights will be at dusk Saturday, Dec. 10, beginning at Elm Street and Aspen Avenue. Info: 858-0360.
■ Collbran: As part of the sixth annual Cowboy Christmas in Collbran festivities the parade of lights will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, on Main Street in Collbran. Info: 487-3751.
