Gingerbread, skating at old-fashioned Christmas celebration in Palisade
Not one, not two, but three days of celebration can be had during the Palisade Olde Fashioned Christmas in downtown Palisade.
The fun begins Friday, Dec. 10, with ice skating on the Plaza from 4 to 7 p.m. and a Christmas tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.
Events on Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Olde Town Marketplace are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring entertainment, a self-guided walking tour, kids’ craft area, Toy Run and Show and Shine Car Show from noon to 2 p.m., wagon rides and much more.
The gingerbread house contest is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Palisade Community Center, including a “Throw Down” competition between local bakers. The annual soup challenge is from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Blue Pig Gallery, 119 W. Third St. The Palisade Fire Department chili cook-off is from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The Christmas parade begins at 5:30 p.m.
A Christmas Tea on Sunday, from noon to 2 p.m. will be hosted by The Wine Country Inn. It is a fundraiser for the Palisade Chamber of Commerce and will feature three courses. Tickets are $15 per person. Call the Palisade Chamber of Commerce at 464-7458 to reserve a space.
