Grandmas can show their talent

Rocking chairs aren’t for these grandmas and grandpas.

The Grandma’s Got Talent Contest, featuring performers all west of 50, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the West of 50 Senior Fair at Two Rivers Convention Center.

The West of 50 Senior Fair will go from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include seminars, vendors, keynote speakers, fashion show and the talent contest, of course. Admission is free.

The talent contest will take place on an elevated stage on the north wall of the exhibition hall. A panel of judges will select the winners in several categories and award prizes. Each performance will be less than 5 minutes long.

The audience can expect to see the young at heart singing, dancing, reciting original poetry and performing comedy routines. There will even be a singing puppet frog.
