Harlem Ambassadors to perform
March Madness takes on a whole new meaning with the Harlem Ambassadors basketball team.
With Harlem-style basketball, high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines, plus a positive message for kids, the team will take to the floor at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Fruita Monument High School, 1102 Wildcat Way, in Fruita.
“At our shows, we want the kids to know that they’re part of our team too,” said Coach Ladè Majic in a news release. “We invite as many kids as we can to come sit on the bench, have a front row seat during the show, and get involved in all of the fun stuff we do.”
The Ambassadors have worked extensively with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters and American Red Cross, as well as Rotary, Lions and Kiwanis clubs, performing more than 200 shows a year, the release said.
For Saturday’s show, the Ambassadors have partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Grand Junction. Proceeds raised will go to Grand Valley charitable organizations that benefit young kids.
Tickets cost $10 for one adult and two children younger than 12. Tickets can be purchased at the door, from Kiwanis members or at http://www.kiwanis-gj-org.
