Have some Halloween fun at Highline Lake State Park

Highline Lake State Park will host two weekends of Halloween fun featuring creepy crawly programs, movies and barrels of thrills, tricks and treats for all ages.

At 5 p.m. on Fridays Oct. 21 and Oct. 28, the park’s campground will feature a program on Creepy Crawly Creature. Kids (and adults) can learn about the spooky animals of Halloween and why there is really nothing to be afraid of.

A Halloween movie will follow at 7 p.m. with free popcorn and apple cider. Hot drinks and ice cream will be available for purchase.

And then, beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturdays Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, the park will have its Monster Mash, a family-friendly Halloween carnival.

Along with trick-or-treating in the campground, there will be face painting, pumpkin painting, a haunted trail candy hunt, spiderweb maze, hay rides and other activities.

Contests include the best scream, bobbing for apples, a costume contest and parade, worm-eating contest, campsite decorating and much more.

Highline Lake State Park is at 1800 11 8/10 Road in Loma. The Halloween events are free, but a valid vehicle park pass is required to enter the park.
