High-definition helmet cameras available at six Colorado ski areas

Skiers and snowboarders have a new option for filming their journeys down the mountain at six Colorado resorts this winter.

California-based eMotionCam has opened kiosks at Vail, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, Lionshead and Frisco that rent high-definition video cameras that fasten to helmets. Renting a camera costs $35 or more a day.

The cameras record up to two hours of footage. The footage can be downloaded to a DVD, USB stick or MicroSD card at the kiosk when the camera is returned.

The kiosks are also at Jackson Hole/Teton Village in Wyoming, Mountain Creek in New Jersey, and Kirkwood, Squaw Valley, Mammoth Lakes and Heavenly Ski Resort in California.

Kiosks will remain at the resorts year-round and continue to rent to hikers, runners and mountain bikers after the snow melts.
